MY GOALS

COMMUNICATION

Communication and collaboration with my students and their families are key factors to my students' success. I focus on goal setting, creating benchmarks and planning backwards to help set my students up for academic progress. I actively co-create individualized learning plans with my students, in collaboration with parents and teachers, to leverage insight from key adults in my students' lives and map a better plan for success and accountability.

RELATIONSHIP

I, as a tutor, fill a different role than teachers and parents that puts me in a unique position to support students from a peer's perspective. I truly believe that personal relationships are foundational to my students' success: the more connected my students feel to me, the more I can create a personalized learning curriculum that incorporates connections to the student's interests and teach to my student's strengths.

CONTINUOUS LEARNING

I want my students to learn beyond our 2 hour sessions. Learning is a continuous process. I aim to help my students have a correct mindset and attitude to learn, to have academic curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and the desire to extend his or her knowledge levels. I want to relieve the stress that struggling students place on themselves and on their families and make learning simple and fun.
